MAY Allah forgive us. We were mistaken. A veil was placed over our understanding. We became forgetful, and because of that, we kept supporting the ignorant system of politics in one way or another. Our Muslim and Islamic community gave up on Islamic politics and became lovers of ignorant (Jahliyah) politics of, and in doing so, we lost our true position.
What happened to us? Despite having a complete way of life, guidance, and way of living in Islam, we handed over politics and civilization to others? We became followers of falsehood (Taghut), and supported its cause.
Who told you that in politics, you must stand with evil, falsehood, and Taghut? Who told you that you must choose the lesser of two evils? Who said it's necessary to stamp your vote for a sinful and wicked person? Who told you to support and help a system that doesn’t belong to Allah?
You run for elections through political parties that have made their desires into gods. You campaign for these desire-worshippers, support them, and vote for them.
Allah says:
"Have you seen the one who takes their own desires as their god? Could you then be responsible for them? Do you think that most of them listen or understand? They are just like cattle—no! They are even more astray from the path!"
— Surah Al-Furqan (25:43–44)
You, Muslim members, stand at the front lines to support shameless and fahish bills in the assemblies. You back these laws. They tear apart Allah’s system, and you join in. What kind of scholars, muftis, fuqha, Islamic thinkers, and PhD holders in Shariah are these, who either support this misguidance or stay silent spectators?
When a flood of evil laws hits the assemblies, these people send letters to Masjid imams, telling them not to speak about society’s wrongs in Friday khutbahs—but rather talk about your personal “spiritual experiences.” What kind of "modern" scholars are these? (I say "modern" because we still have hope in traditional scholars not influenced by modernity.)
These are scholars who want to keep the discussion of Tawheed (monotheism) and Shirk (polytheism) out of politics.
What kind of thinkers are they, who write books on Iqamat e Deen (establishing deen),” but in their political lectures encourage connections with un-Islamic, fahish parties and fahish ideologies? They spend their entire lives supporting the deen of liberalism.
What kind of scholars, leaders, intellectuals, and groups are these who try to suppress even the weakest voice raised against evil?
Allah commands:
"Cooperate with one another in goodness and righteousness, and do not cooperate in sin and aggression."
— Surah Al-Ma’idah (5:2)
But these people do the exact opposite. They help in sin and wrongdoing and avoid cooperating in good.
What kind of so-called tahreeki brothers are these, who work on liberal platforms not to promote good and forbid evil, but to promote evil and forbid good?
What kind of movement leaders are these, who run for election on behalf of openly fahish political parties and make statements supporting their shameful policies?
They say in election debates that they believe in the Canadian Charter, which protects same-sex relationships, and then go back to give Quran classes (dars e Quran) among their companions. They call themselves expert teachers of the Quran, but their entire political investment is in promoting the campaigns of fahish shameless candidates.
Who taught them to make their youth workers for sinful and fahish parties? Who are these people who mention the name of Syed Abul A’la Maududi (RA), but act completely opposite to him? Maulana Maududi dedicated his life to making Deen dominate politics, while these people are busy separating politics from Deen.
What kind of new teachers are these who are teaching eagle-like children to crawl in the dirt?
Allama Iqbal said:
“Whether it is the glory of monarchy or the drama of democracy—
If Deen is separated from politics, only tyranny remains.”
So who are these people who support the tyranny and fahishity of politics separated from Deen? Look at their long list of supporters—imams, scholars, modern fuqhah, and tahreeki brothers—who even speak in their favor from the pulpit of the Prophet ﷺ. What a shame!
The federal election in Canada has been announced. It will be completed on April 28 of this month. In the British-Western democratic system, only one of two parties—Liberal or Conservative—can form the government.
The rest win a few seats, like “chutney and pickles,” or vanish on the ballot paper. They are like seasonal insects that fade away in a day.
Those forming new political parties or becoming candidates should study the history and purpose of this system. They should get out of their "fool’s paradise" and use their time and resources for something beneficial rather than wasting them in useless politics.
It is clear that either the Liberal or Conservative party will win this election. The Liberal party is anti-Deen, worships desires, and has made fahish (shameful) laws at the provincial and federal level that have destroyed family, society, and education.
They’ve created such a toxic environment that it’s hard to breathe. They’ve made life miserable for traditional and religious families and have spread a culture of filth. The Liberal party (including NDP) is the founder of an fahish civilization unlike anything in human history.
The Conservative party, which once supported social conservatism, has now surrendered to fahish political groups. Under former leader Erin O’Toole, it fully supported the Liberal “Anti-Conversion Therapy Bill.”
The Conservative’s current leader calls himself a friend of Israel and is happy over the bloodshed and destruction in Palestine. He loves the oppressor and hates the oppressed.
Furthermore, all parties are on the same page when it comes to Israel. The Liberal party always voted in favor of Israel at the United Nations.
The Ontario NDP also expelled a Muslim member of provincial parliament, Sarah Jama, for supporting Palestine. Sarah lost the election as an independent in the previous Provincial election, because this system does not allow voices of truth to succeed.
You say we should vote for the lesser evil. I ask: what kind of conscience do you have? Where is your understanding? Where is your dignity? Where is your knowledge and faith?
If the person you vote for makes a cruel or shameless law, you will also carry the sin for it. The cycle of reward and sin continues until the Day of Judgment.
"Whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it, and whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it."
— Surah Az-Zalzalah (99:7–8)
The Case for Islamic Politics
We already knew the meaning of La ilaha illallah Muhammadur Rasulullah—yet we remained heedless. Society’s norms didn’t stop us from voting. A vote is a trust, a testimony—either for Allah’s system or against it. We don’t vote for a person or party—we vote for a system that rejects Allah.
La ilaha illallah Muhammadur Rasulullah
This testimony means our entire life must follow Allah and His Messenger ﷺ, through the Qur'an and Sunnah. No example in history has shown that the guidance given by the Qur’an—in beliefs, morals, law, culture, economy, society, and politics—is wrong.
We believe that Allah is the One, the King, the Owner of all kingdoms, the Master of the heavens and the earth, and the Judge. His command runs everywhere. He is the Creator and Owner of everything. He never sleeps or gets tired.
"Allah! There is no god except Him—the Ever-Living, All-Sustaining. Neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth."
— Surah Al-Baqarah (2:255)
We believe He is the Originator of the heavens and the earth, the Most High, the Majestic, the Great, the Glorious, the Almighty, the All-Powerful, the All-Knowing, the Protector, the Watchful, the Just, the Truth, the Guide, the Provider, the Generous, the Guardian, and the Witness.
We also believe that Allah promised us the leadership and inheritance of the earth.
"Moses said to his people, 'Seek Allah’s help and be patient. Indeed, the earth belongs to Allah alone. He grants it to whoever He chooses of His servants. The ultimate outcome belongs only to the righteous.'”
— Surah Al-A‘raf (7:128)
"Then We inflicted punishment upon them and drowned them in the sea, for they denied Our signs and were heedless of them. And We made the oppressed people inherit both the eastern and western lands which We had showered with blessings."
— Surah Al-A‘raf (7:136–137)
"Indeed, We have written in the Psalms, after the Reminder: 'My righteous servants shall inherit the earth.' Surely, this is a message for people of worship (who obeys)."
— Surah Al-Anbiya’ (21:105–106)
"Allah has promised those of you who believe and do good that He will certainly make them successors in the land, as He did with those before them; and He will establish for them their faith—the one He has chosen for them—and He will replace their fear with security, provided they worship (obey) Me, not associating anything with Me."
— Surah An-Nur (24:55)
We believe Allah has promised the dominance of His Deen:
"He is the One Who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the Deen of truth, making it prevail over all others. And sufficient is Allah as a Witness."
— Surah Al-Fath (48:28)
"They wish to extinguish Allah’s light with their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even to the dismay of the disbelievers. He is the One Who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the deen of truth, making it prevail over all others—even to the dismay of the polytheists."
— Surah As-Saff (61:8–9)
The System of Khilafah (Caliphate)
The political system of the Deen of truth is Khilafah—built on three foundations:
- Tawheed (Oneness of God):
Allah alone holds supreme authority. He is the Law-Giver. No king, tyrant, or democratic assembly can compete with Him.
"Authority belongs only to Allah. He has commanded that you worship none but Him. That is the upright way of life."
— Surah Yusuf (12:40)
"Follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord and do not follow others as guardians besides Him."
— Surah Al-A‘raf (7:3)
"Those who do not judge by what Allah has revealed are truly disbelievers."
— Surah Al-Ma’idah (5:44)
- Risalah (Prophethood):
Our guidance comes from Muhammad ﷺ. He is our leader in political and civil life.
"We have sent no messenger except to be obeyed by Allah’s command."
— Surah An-Nisa’ (4:64)
"Whoever obeys the Messenger has truly obeyed Allah."
— Surah An-Nisa’ (4:80)
"But no! By your Lord, they will never be (true) believers until they accept you as the judge in their disputes and find no resistance in their hearts against your decisions and submit wholeheartedly."
— Surah An-Nisa’ (4:65)
- Aakhirah (Hereafter):
The goal of governance is success in this life and the next, and to avoid Hell.
"Our Lord! Grant us the good of this world and the Hereafter, and protect us from the torment of the Fire."
— Surah Al-Baqarah (2:201)
"(These believers) are those who, if We give them authority in the land, they establish prayer, pay alms, encourage good, and forbid evil."
— Surah Al-Hajj (22:41)
However, the dominance of deen, the rule of Islam, and the spread of Allah’s light will not happen automatically. That goes against Allah’s plan. People must strive for it. Allah has declared:
"And that each person will only have what they worked for."
— Surah An-Najm (53:39)
What We Must Do
It is our duty to do the work of establishing the Deen. To make the Deen dominant. To deliver the truth to every human being. To support Allah’s guidance in personal life, family, society, and in the government and politics of the country. We must leave the Deen of Taghut and reject all systems of falsehood.
We must revive the mission of the prophets: to guide people away from worshipping others and bring them to the worship of Allah alone.
"We surely sent a messenger to every community, saying, 'Worship Allah and shun false gods (taghoot).'"
— Surah An-Nahl (16:36)
This is not a side task. This is the purpose of life for a believer. This is the real way of worshipping/obeying Allah.
We must revive the system of Khilafah (Caliphate) and gather under its leadership. This system doesn’t emerge from rebellion, chaos, or violence—but from sincere efforts, education, training, dawah, unity, and political struggle.
Islamic politics is not just about forming parties or winning elections. Its goal is to prepare righteous individuals and a righteous society who will support the truth and reject falsehood. It’s about building a society that loves Allah and hates what He dislikes.
We must raise a generation that is free from love of Taghut, free from political slavery, and is not attached to colonial systems. A generation that sees honor only in Allah and His Messenger ﷺ.
"Those who take disbelievers as allies instead of the believers. Do they seek honor in their company? Surely all honor belongs to Allah alone."
— Surah An-Nisa’ (4:139)
We need to raise voices—through our pens, platforms, media, and gatherings—against the system of falsehood. And we must present the system of truth in its place. This is our dawah. This is our mission.
We must build Islamic educational institutions, Islamic Centers, media platforms, and social networks that guide people toward the Qur’an and Sunnah. That prepare a community capable of bringing about political change—not just temporary political success, but a long-term Islamic revival.
We must educate Muslims on the meaning of true success—not success in the world’s eyes, but in the sight of Allah. Not just success in votes or seats, but success in making Islam the foundation of life.
We must completely reject the idea of voting for evil or the lesser of two evils. Even if you don’t have a clear Islamic option, you must never become part of a sinful system. Silence is better than sin. Not voting is better than voting for falsehood.
Don’t vote for false system. Withdraw. Disengage. And instead, put your efforts into building an Islamic option. Create righteous alternatives. Build your base. Train your youth. Raise your voice. This is the path of revival.
"Indeed, Allah does not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves."
— Surah Ar-Ra’d (13:11)
Our Duties:
1. Da’wah of Deen (Invitation): Convey Allah’s system to politicians, lawmakers, and the public. (Fussilat 41:33)
2. Iqamat-ud-Deen (Establishing the Deen): Political reform should aim for divine governance—uplifting Allah’s word, enjoining good and forbidding evil.
“He has prescribed for you the Deen which He enjoined upon Noah and which We revealed to you (O Muhammad), and which We enjoined upon Abraham and Moses and Jesus, commanding: “Establish this deen and do not split up regarding it.” What you are calling to is very hard upon those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity. Allah chooses for Himself whomsoever He pleases and guides to Himself whoever penitently turns to Him.” (As-Shura 42:13)
Methodology:
Jihad with the Qur’an (intellectual struggle):
“So do not obey the disbelievers and strive against them with it (the Qur’an) a mighty striving.” (Al-Furqan 25:52)
This is not about being a majority or minority. Even prophets came alone. No matter where we live, our job is the same.
If we can't take a step forward, it's still better to face the goal (even while standing still) than to change direction.
We declare: “We will not vote.”
Our Allah is Al-Khabeer (the All-Aware of everything) and Al-Waarith (the One who will inherit everything in the end).

Assalamualaikum,
I am convinced will the rejection of political system operated by Western democracy which is founded on basis of rejection of supreme authority of course Allah over on the very slaves of Allah.
I appeal to learned scholars of Islam to endorse the rejection of Western democracy and governance based on the rejection of Allah.
This is very simple and straight forward agenda of this Ummah.
I pray to Allah to guide our scholars to deliver the truth to mankind fearlessly Ameen
Bahira Abdulsalam
Thanks for sharing this interesting article. Very informative and we agree on the huge corruption of this government that resulted in a Genocide of 60000 Muslims in Palestine. However you ignored a very important fact. GOD never commands us for prayer without action. And never to watch evil propagates while sitting in the backseat watching making prayers or dawa.
