Talking Points for MPPs, Education Minister, and Premier

Talking Points for MPPs, Education Minister, and Premier

By Jawed Anwar

September is the start of the school year. Public Schools, Catholic Schools, Public School Boards, and Catholic School Boards are all part of the Ontario Government's Ministry of Education (if you live in Ontario). Education is mostly managed by each province, and the Premier of the Province has a lot of power.

Schools and Boards make sure that rules are followed, but they don't create the rules. So, talking or protesting against schools and boards might not have much effect.

That's why it's important to talk to your MPPs, Education Minister, and Premier. The good thing is that you can easily reach out to them, and they don't hide after elections. Another good thing is that you can talk to the PC government. But you can't talk to Ontario Liberals and NDP about this. They made the rules, enforced them, and supported all the laws affecting us.

Important Points to Talk About:

1. Our religious belief is that there are only two genders: male and female (boys and girls). These genders are given by God and can't be changed. Sexual relationships are only meant for a man and a woman, and we believe in not having sex before marriage. This is agreed upon by Muslims and other religious groups for family life.

2. Public Schools are teaching about Sex and Gender in a way that goes against our religious beliefs. Our religious rights should be protected, as promised in section 2 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. It says, “Canadians are free to follow the religion of their choice. In addition, they are guaranteed freedom of thought, belief and expression.”

3. Public schools should focus on teaching Math, Science, and Language. They shouldn't teach about gender and sexuality. Parents and religious educators can teach these topics according to their beliefs.

4. Parents are the first teachers for their children, and they should have control over what their children learn.

5. Parents don't want their children to learn from groups like Planned Parenthood and PRIDE. These groups teach things that go against our religious beliefs. We don't want the people from these groups to meet our children.

6. We voted for the Progressive Conservative (PC) party to change the education system left by Liberal Kathleen Wynne, not to keep their legacy.

What to Do:

Meet with your MPP (the person who represents you in the Provincial Assembly), the Provincial Education Minister, and the Premier of the Province in groups. Talk about these things politely and in the best way. Don't be angry or rude, but be strong and sure when you talk.

Also, please write a letter or send an email to them.

And don't forget to pray.
